waist not want not

is that how the saying goes? It seems approapriate the week i'm going to start back at the gym is the week Embellished's In your skin challenge theme is 'Waist.'

Ok no i'm not overweight, but you know those days you feel like you've got a spare tire around your stomach, well I get those too! I don't feel overweight at the moment, I don't feel 'fat' I just feel like I can be healthier- there are so many people at work and around me that are running/cycling/doing pump classes/gym etc.... I want to be a part of that.

I want to eat healthier
I want to feel healthier
I want to get back on the treadmill
I want to feel my muscles aching the next day after a work out

It is a satisfying feeling that I'd love to get back
Today it get back into fitness day.

Next week will be detox week- for Brad and I. Lots of healthy food, no alcohol, soups etc. Loving it!!

i love nature

I do. I love going back home. I love the creek. the trickling water. the wildlife. I don't like 'cutty grass' . I love fresh creek water. the smell of mud. the cool autumn breeze. the smell of freshly mowed lawns. I love the sweet scent of a rose from mum's garden.

I made this layout for a submission to For Keeps magazine 'nature' theme, only to find out I was a day late in submitting - arghh! oh well, you know what? I probably wouldn't have done this layout if not for the theme, and now I'm glad I've documented my thoughts.... the picture was taken just below my parents house (in North East Victoria) down at the creek- 'Georges Creek' last year. My boyfriend and I went for a walk as the sun was setting and the was air cool - it was beautiful and I hope this LO captured some of nature's beauty!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my wonderful boyfriend of 3 (and a bit)years!!

He's 25 today- please wish him a Happy Birthday!

I am buying him some new sunglasses (when we find them), but I got him 'The Shield' season 3 and Chicane's latest album- both which he has NO CLUE about, and I'm sure he'll adore!

I *heart* Brad so much, he is such a special part of my life and wish him all the love and happiness he deserves!!

Just a few of the things I love about him:
- his warmth
- his 'squishiness' (yep love cuddling)
- his smile
- his blue eyes
- his caring nature
- his heart
- his love of family
- his laughter
- his optimism
and of course--- his love for me. :)

endings and beginnings

i graduated yesterday
I graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Arts (Public Relations) with distinction, majoring in Journalism!
:) I'm so happy
It was so nice to catch up with old uni friends, old res friends and good friends
Mum and Dad made the trip down to Geelong for it- i'm glad they were there

It's weird, this chapter in my book of life has closed, but this chapter has opened the door to so many new books in my life- ficiton, non fiction, adventure, mystery, chick lit, biographies, cookbooks, research, journals...the list could go on.

We had an amazing guest lecture from Sally- Blueboat strategic communications. She was amazing, insightful and insspirational.

She told us her top five things in the book of life, based on hers and of my understanding of the world at present, my top 5 would be:
1) Lifelong learning (reading, research, education, visiting museums, doing research etc)
2) Live in the moment (take a bull by the horns- relish the moment, don't over analyse)
3) Understanding (of others, of myself, of the world and my place in it)
4)Dedication (Whatever i decide to do with my life, with my spare time, of my passion, be dedicated and pursue)
5) be creative (of course! photography, scrapbooking, writing, craft, painting, be curious, innovative and inspired!)

So thats all for philosophy today.....

Here's a little scrapping of late, latest 'in your skin' challenge, 'hands'. Decided to do this about my thoughts of one day being married, and getting to hold another's hand forever (hopefully my boyfriends! ;) )

Embossed a timholtz grungeboard swirl- had fun till it popped and inked the top- love the effect- so using it again! Also got to try out my new staz on ink- butterfly on acetate!
