mmm country air

My main reason to duck home was to pick up my birthday prezzies!! Yep- mum and dad got me….wait for it…..
A sewing machine!! I’m so happy, not only will I be able to fix my own clothes, but make them too! I’ll also be able to use it for my scrapbooking pages!  
I visited mum and dad back at the farm. On Saturday I even helped Dad feed the cows (silage), now I know it looks absolutely freezing, its not THAT cold- the frosty grass and fog makes it look worse!
I watched my little brother play footy (they lost by a point in the end!)
Enjoyed lazy fish and chips for tea, and enjoyed a night in with mum and dad….
And on Sunday I picked up my new touch-screen phone- LG KU990 – its gorgeous and so fun to play with, it’s even got a 5mp camera in it (handy hey?)

On a crappy note, I had to catch the train back to Melbourne because my car broke down (it was booked in for a service on Saturday too, but didn’t make it)…..yeh I think I’ll have to replace the transmission- and just as I was getting my saving and budgeting back into gear…..

lovelies

So I don't have the internet at home yet....and I'm writing this while I'm at work....so I can't show you photos from last weekend. But I'll fill you in a little,
- I went to Geelong, caught up with a mate from uni we had lunch. I caught up with the Gloria Jeans (current and ex) girls at Mel & Chris's wedding [photo's to come]... poor girl it rained all day and they got married in the botanical gardens.
- Saturday night I spent the night in, didn't eat I was that busy, cleaning and scrapping (my CJ for Skye's CJ on the scrapbooking memories forum). Brad was at the footy so it was nice to have the house to myself.
- Sunday was spent cleaning, washing, folding, grocery shopping, grocery putting away, baking, meeting (with all other tennants in our appartment- a meet and greet - and complain fest) Sunday night, Tina and Marty came over for tea, was lovely to have guests over...

On another note I am loving lovely things at the moment:
- poppy talk handmade: a website of all yummy things handmade
- TTV photos, including, this and this
- this little guinea pig, SO CUTE reminds me of my old GP- malty!

- journals for list making, note taking, inspirations, thoughts, feelings, and diaries... including i just brought this journal , but i also love this one and this one

-poppy talk's affordable art guide- check it out!!
- Ali edwards 'words + photos week'. love the idea, i just finished ready the past few day/week of her blog and really brings why we scrapbook back home- we scrap because we want to tell a story, and tell is simply! love it and totally bringing it back! thanks ali!

a trip of firsts....

my first flight on a plane- not kidding
my first trip to Sydney

Brad and I had a wonderful weekend, we flew up Friday night. Enjoyed spanish for tea. We strolled the city and took a trip out to Bondi beach on Saturday, back into the city in the arvo for a nap (we were so tired, and needed a rest.) We enjoyed a lovely tea on Darling harbour and a beer! we watched the street performer and loved eating a HUGE icecream dessert at French Riviera-mmmm....

Sunday we changed hotels- I stayed on till yesterday (wednesday) for work. Had a quick breaky and caught up with one of Brad's work mates who was also in Sydney for the weekend....we took the ferry across to manly, walked along the beach and the three of us had a nice lunch on a rooftop pub! (including oysters and red snapper!! YUM)

Was sad to see Brad leave in the arvo.... I stayed to work and help out in my work's Sydney office till yesterday. I realised how much I missed Brad and home....yes I have somewhere else, other than my mum and dad's house to call home. somewhere I feel safe, loved and comfortable.....it was a nice feeling to have! :) enjoy the weekend everyone, I'll leave you with some happy snaps from my lil trip of firsts... xoxo

floating

wow I'm now 22. it's weird, all your life you can't wait for that next birthday, till you 'double digits' 10, 'sweet' 16, 18- the year you have a passive party with your mates and some family to celebrate getting your P's and being able to drink legally...then it's the 'holy grail' of b'days- your 21st....well it's been and gone....and now i feel like i'm floating. do birthday's even matter any more?

Of course they do!! HAPPY DAYS!! hehe... :) I spent the day before (7th) celebrating a good work friends 23rd birthday- cake too.....and I got a few cards in the mail that night.

I spent the day at work, as usally nothing exciting happening. I got a phone call from my boyfriends parents, my parents, txt messages and facebook wall posts from friends....I got home and Brad was just waiting there with my presents. I opened a small package that came in the mail from mum and dad first- a little box of roses chockies and a date stamp (YAY- of course I'd been wanting one for AGES for scrapbooking.) I got a few more cards also... Brad gave me the women's Bekham perfume 'Intimately Bekham' and a book by Kate Grenville 'The Secret River'...he's also taking me shopping! :)

We went out for tea to Tom Phat on Sydney rd, I got lemon meringue pie take away desert and we picked up P.S I love you on dvd....yes a nice soppy romantic chick-flick! :)

At the moment I'm in sydney for work....I've been up here since friday night...My b/f and I spent the weekend site seeing and relaxing, he flew home sunday arvo...and I stayed on.. I will upload piccy's of my b'day presents and Sydney photos when I return...

Oh and I didn't get to see my mum on mothers day, but I'd already given her a handbag for it a month earlier (i couldn't wait!), but I sent her a handmade card and a little altered magnetic clipboard....

a good weekend

SATURDAY - i waited for the telstra man to come and install our phone line, his approximated time of arrival- between 8am and 12noon. So i wait patiently, I clean, wipe, do the dishes, laundy and get my scrap supplies ready. Skye comes over about 1pm, we scrap for a bit and chat. It really was such a lovely afternoon to scrap away and get to know a new friend. It's so nice to share your hobby with someone- not just scrap away to yourself with only the radio to keep you company.....hehe
Meanwhile Brad went to have breaky, to Highpoint (shopping for my b'day present), and to visit his sister. Oh and the telstra guy did finally arrive- at 1.30pm.....took him a while but we now have a phone, we can get calls- can't make em yet. our modem arrives (hopefully) this week, and then we'll have the net, and then we can sign up our phone so we can make calls....

some products arrived during the week, and I got all my things to make my "almost' SIL her baby album- I started that this morning! First page is complete!! :) Here's two other layouts I made while Skye was over:

Saturday night brad and I had fish and chips for tea (takeaway) and watched the good ol' aussie flick staring Russel Crowe- Romper stomper.

SUNDAY- I slept in (till 8.30am). Brad worked till 3pm. I did some more washing and cleaning. breaky. spotlight (for a few sneaky scrapping supplies), and a bella chipboard clipboard (say that 10 times fast!) to alter for mum for mothers day (which I completed Sunday night in about 30minutes (will post a pic up soon). I also scored a little bella spiral album for Skye's 'lesson' circle journal- my first!! :)
I popped by safeway for some lunch things. I prepared lunch (mmm chicken and salad sandwhiches) for Em and I. more washing etc. Em came over, we caught up- hadn't seen her for ages, finally gave her, her birthday present, a gorgeous olga berg wallet...
Brad home. we got a coffee and hedgehog for arvo tea.
did grocery's.
i scrapped (mum's clipboard), and 1/2 a page i've been working on since Sat....all needs to do now is to be stuck down....

and that's my weekend. nice and relaxing in prep for the birthday week and sydney next weekend! :)

update

Sorry i haven't posted here- for whoops a week! shame on me! :) I had a blast over the long weekend...
- I went to ANZAC day footy match- Collingwood VS Essendon with Brad and his family. We went out for tea at a pub in Richmond afterwards.
- For Brad's mum's birthday, we went around to his sisters for a 'surprise' breakfast-, we took yummy apricot croisant (sp) things and sourdough!
- Brad and I had a dining table frame welded up, today we went to bunnings, to supplies, got some plywood and built our table. Was so fun to make something together- it (very) comfortable seats four and was made for our apartment- so it fits perfectly...I'll put some piccy's up later. We also went to Ikea and picked up those cute little plywood stools- and at $30 each! BARGAIN!!
- I had a lazy night at home Sat night - watched a movie 'The Heartbreak Kid', with michelle monaghan and ben stiller in it..... was really funny actually.
- Sunday I had a lazy day, scrapping, cleaning a little, grocery shopping etc.

This week:
- I found out one of my scrapbooking layout's was accepted for Scrapbooking Memories magazine!! :)
- I did the latest 'IN your skin' challenge at Embellished- this week was but/thighs

- I'm looking forward to having Skye over for an afternoon of scrapping on Saturday
- I booked flights and accommodation for Sydney (im going up there for a week for work, but Brad and I are spending the weekend together up there also)
- I'm looking forward to my birthday next week! :) (May 8th in case you don't know!) hehe.
- I missed Brad - he's been coming home late from work (one night 11.30pm) eek!!
- I've enjoyed my 'me' time after work.
- I did a massive load of ironing last night
- I've been waiting to pick up some parcels from the post office (as it closes at 6pm and I don't get home till 6.45)- and tonight it's open till 7pm- u know what those parcels are? yep scrapping supplies- one for me, and one package of goodies to make my 'to-be' sister-in-law a baby album for her first bub!! :) can't wait to get started.
- I somehow lost a friend- due to a misunderstanding (on her behalf)
- I spoke to a good uni friend- geez i miss those days!
