no scrap news, sorry!

Sorry no scrapping of late, I did one layout around at my new place (yep still moving in) that I can't share as yet, as it's a piece for Scrapbook Creations

I'll share photo's of my new place when I've got everything moved in, in a couple of weeks!

I totally LOVE this photo that witchy took of my darling Brad and I at Fed Square when I met her, she was dying to meet my 'hunk-of a spunk' boyfriend, and then proceeded to take a few quick shots of us....I can't wait to scrap this one! :)

Secondly, I'm getting my hair done in a couple of weeks (i realised how long it's got, and the colour needs fixing as I haven't been to the hairdressers in about 9 weeks - and by the time I get it done, it'll be 11!) Terrible I know... Anyway as you can see in my previous posts, it's about shoulder lenght, a mid brown colour with bronze foils on top and darkish underneath. I wanna grow my hair longer, but I found these pix (I know they all have blonde hair - my natural colour)....I'm torn between wanting to go lighter, or go dark brown all over. I love the fringe of the chick in the middle and the girl on the right.....

I need help please!!

Lastly, I found this quote - another one....and it's so true! Not to anything in my life RIGHT now, but it has been in the past....I just love that it shows us that we have to be READY for change in order for that change/changes to happen! :) Brilliant!

dont cry because it's over, smile because it happened....

I've been really busy. Between being absolutely FLAT OUT at work and organising moving arrangements, house cleaning and packing I haven't had time to scratch myself... my scrap area is already packed up - but that hasn't stopped me from doing a little scrapbooking!

I finished off this layout I started at the National Scrapbook Week crop day at the Kaiser Outlet....I am trying to do a 'monthly recap' page layout for every month - with a variety of photos and the same questions asked each month.....
Here I've used Kaisercraft Everblooming, collections chipboard, carolees creations letter stickers and everyjotandtitle journal tag.

This is a card I made for my boyfriend's parents 30th Wedding anniversary using Kaisercraft's Argentella paper, pearl strips and some rubons....

On another note I'm looking forward to heading here in a couple of weeks:

Yep, up to Brisbane if you didn't guess - I'm heading there for the 2009 Scrapbook & Papercraft Convention to help out on Kaisercraft's stand and teach a class up there! I've still got spots left if you're interested... And please drop by our stand (number 70) if you're there! I'd love to meet you! :)

I'm heading to Ikea this weekend which I'm super excited about, buying a new bookshelf for my new house and some yummy things to store my scrap stuff in!

While I'm waffling on...I thought I'd share a little quote I found recently that totally related to a few 'incidents' that have happened in the last month or so...Personal stuff, but stuff I can look back on now and think that I can only learn from what has happened, move up and become a better person for it. Sometimes it takes someone to break your heart for you to realise what is really best for you and that you should be thankful that it's happened sooner rather than later. :)

Peace out dudes. xoxoxox

a few little pix

Hi all.

I know I've been slack. I haven't done any scrapping of late( well I did finish off one layout last night, except I didn't photograph it)...

So I thought I'd share a few pics from my birthday weekend. On Saturday I shouted myself to a new little black dress and an awesome jacket! I went out on Saturday night with a few close friends for pizza and drinks...

Then on Sunday morning I had a lovely breakfast down Lygon St with the boys, followed by a catch up with Lisa Oxley (aka WitchY) and her mate Lee @ Fed Square. I enjoyed a glass of wine while we chatted away, took photos, had a laugh and a good talk about all things - life, scrapping, men etc.... FUN!

A selfie taken witchy style - noice and close! :)
Witchy it was a true pleasure to get to meet you, you really do have a beautiful soul - your heart just shines! I do hope all your dreams do come true - just follow your heart babe, it'll lead you in the right direction!!

Thats all for now folks. Just letting you know that I'm moving (again) and might not be on here for a lil while, while I find a new place, pack, sort out a few things and get settled!! Hope to see you soon! xo

Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

I found this quote pertinent today after doing a little relecting lately.....

Firstly, here are a few layouts to share that I promised from Friday...
The first is my 'monthly layouts' I do to track how things change over time.... This if from March (obviously I'm a little behind). It's good to look back and see what happened that month, what was going on and what I was thinking!

The next is a cute layout I made of my boyfriend and his little nephew, Ill get Brad to journal his thoughts on this layout. But the title is my thoughts.... it was a perfect moment and I love seeing how much Brad adores his nephew!

It seems I'm struggling to find time to scrapbook lately. I'm inspired and want to....during the day, but not when I get home... I have to cook dinner and lately have been trying to go for a run most nights (up to 5.3km) :). So by the time I finish dinner, clean up and relax, it's too late for me to start a page....

Lately it takes me about a week to complete a layout (afrer a couple of sittings)..I had a layout accepted for publication for SBM the other week that lifted my spirits...Don't get me wrong i DONT scrap to be published AT ALL, it seems like that's what every one is on about lately....
- Scrapping to be published
- Going for Design Teams
- Gossiping on smack sites

I think I'm just feeling a little disillusioned by the scrapbooking industry of late. I've been writing an article for the Scrapbook Update website and doing a lot of research...

The heart of scrapbooking lies within ourselves, our family, our family's moments and our photos, heritage and thoughts. It's not about being published, or showcasing our work on shop/manufacture or Challenge site as a Design Team member.

I create layouts for me, I pick a photo I love and create from the heart. These two layouts I've put up here today I created because I want to record a moment. I don't scrap for submission, I scrap because I want to.

I'm feeling that with less and less time to scrapbook, I don't really need this blog. Im feeling that with less and less crafty items to share, that it's not necessary for me to have a blog.

Don't get me wrong I love blogs and finding inspiring things, I just feel like this shoudln't be one of the MILLIONS of blogs out there cluttering up cyberspace!

That's all for today.
Sorry for the long and emotional post!!

latest scrapping...

Between having my head buring in scrapping news, marketing information, writing, fact checking and even more writing, the last thing I have felt like doing is sitting down to write this blog! I've been flat out between work, tennis, indoor soccer, travelling home to see the family, driving up to Melbourne to see my lovely boyfriend and just chilling on weekends - making the most of time off!!

Anyways, last Saturday I celebrated National Scrapbook Day at the Kaisercraft Outlet, scrapping away, with the proceeds of the day going towards a local cause (for more information visit the Crop 4 a Cause blog).

Saturday night I went to see this movie, and boy oh boy was it touching. I swear there wasn't a dry eye in the movie theatre....I'm so going out and buying this when it comes to DVD....

For some of you readers out there, you may have noticed I've only been sharing mostly scrapbooking related information of late. While I do enjoy sharing personal stories and what has been happening of late, I've decided to only share mainly art/scrapbooking related stuff here. I figure if people want to genuinly now how I'm going they can ask, and those of you who I only know through this blog....I figure you don't really need to know the nitty gritty details of life sometimes - you come here to have a sneak peek at my scrapping right? ;)

So, I'll share with you some scrapping I've been doing. First a quick and easy layout inspired by the talented Belinda Venables, using Kaisercraft 'Waterberry' and 'Sweets' patterned paper, rub ons and clear stamps. I also downloaded Heidi Swapp's sweet love coupons on the House of 3 website. Cute ey?

The above page I scrapbooked b/c I loved that recent photo of my handsome boyfriend Brad and I celebrating his 26th birthday with his parents - and because I thought it represented what I was feeling at the moment about our fantastic relationship...

Lately I've been trying to scrap simply, using the photos to tell the story and focusing on the journalling to help add to that...It's been fun! I created the below layout at the Kaisercraft Outlet on Saturday, using Kaisercraft Grandiose and Everblooming paper. I created this page as a tribute to my Dad, celebrating all he does for my family - a hard working famer! Love him! :)

Happy scrapping!
