4. Dreaming of a European working holiday....visiting places like Venice, London, Barcelona, Paris, Finland and more....
5. amazing artwork. Acrylic paint on 112 steps. It's a stairway painting in Wuppertal, Germany by artist professor, Horst Glasker. The work is called Scala. The (German) words on the stairs are describing the relationship between human beings. LOVE the idea of this!!
And today... I'm adding a 6th!! "Just coz", a gorgeous simple dining area. I'm loving painted floorboards at the moment: Source: From emmas blogg
1. I've been feeling a little 'home decor' inspired lately after visiting this fantastic website! Young House Love is a cute little blog about a couple in the US who feature home DIY projects, giving home decor advice to others and other inspiring homes! Love it!
I totally revamped my scrap storage area the other night....spent a few hours tidying etc... Come back early next week for a 'before' and 'after' shot and some ideas for scrap storage!
2. The Scrap Review and Craft Critique websites - are an almost daily visit for me. Both in my own crafty interests and the interests of my job, these sites have product reviews, industry news and tons more crafty inspiration!
Plus - how cool is the e-craft! Totally on my wish list this Christmas! With an SD card as memory, a limitless cutting length and it's hot colours (green please) I totally love this!
3. Two new layouts. The first a gorgeous little layout of my gorgeous lil nephew Mason! :) The second a layout using some new-ish October afternoon papers. These photos were taken on new years eve 2007! (seems so long ago already)
Now I just realised the above two layouts look eerily similar - love blue and green right now...
4. Snow! (Even if it were a tiny bit and was slushy as all hell!) Brad and I visited Mt. Donna Buang and surrounding areas (Yarra Valley), Healsville, Yarra Glen, Warburton etc.... It was a lovely day filled with sunshine, love and happiness. We visited a winery, Immerse at Dixons Creek, that we stayed at a couple of years ago to pick up a bottle of wine and were astounded, and deeply sadened to learn they lost a beautiful big barn, their guest cottage, 8 bedroom lodge and their shiraz winery in the Black Saturday bushfires.
Please support this region if you're down that way.
5. Last of all... I wanted to say thanks to my Mum, who I know reads this occassionally... A blurry phone pic taken of us in May... Love you mum and thanks for the cute little card and your uplifting pep talks over the phone...(you know what I'm talking about!)
An awesome read about self-discipline being the key to happiness. Penelope is refreshing in a lot of her posts, she talks frankly and to-the-point. The read made me realise that happiness is dependent on our self-discipline.
Eg. for me I know that I can't afford to join the gym and getting fit again is not an option there...running I know WONT happen every night....so why not committ to a bunch of sit ups, push ups, squats etc EVERY night - it's something I can do on my loungeroom floor...
So today I'm making the following goals for the next month, easy goals that I know I can achieve - it's better to over achieve than under hey?
1. Do 3sets x12 sit ups, push ups and squats every night until 31 August.
2. Scrapbook 1 layout each week until 31st August = minimum 3 layouts.
3. Go for at least a 3km jog twice a week until 31st August.
4. Finish reading my novel before 31st August.
5. Print digital photos from the last couple of months & those on my memory stick, so I can scrapbook them.
6. Save $15 a week towards a Christmas account (= $45).
7. finish my 'life right now' mini album that's been sitting on my imaginary 'scrapbook to-do list' for the last few months.
A great quote I found:
"Life isn't about finding yourself. LIFE IS ABOUT CREATING YOURSELF". See where I found it.
I've been playing with Kaiser's new digital collections... and this digi stuff is addictive man! It takes a while to get used to, but I've been playing with my new proffessional Wacom tablet too - which makes things so much more precise and gives me the ability to handwrite and draw on my digi layouts....
Journalling reads: "Loving life. Loving friends. Laughing lots. Family, good friends, health, fun and fitness. Right now I feel great! It’s a good life! 05/08/09"
1. Cheap artwork from here...So it might not work out cheap by the time I convert the $$ and post it to Aust... I love the idea!
How cool is this print for $20!! :)
2. My good friend Skye is exhibiting her work at the Unsensored09 exhibition for emerging analogue photographers! Heading along to the opening tonight! :)
3. I'm looking forward to a surprise day trip with my wonderful boyfriend tomorrow! :)
4. MMM these soaps are good enough to eat! I so want to buy a bunch just to display in my bathroom! :)
5. New scrapbooking goodies from CHA! Including Kaisercraft's new lines (Pina Colada, Offshore, Loire Valley are the faves), October Afternoon's new travel line "Road Map", Cosmo Crickets 'The Boyfriend', Basic Grey's new "nOok and pantry' line, Sassafrass' felties, Bo Bonny delilah range, Websters 'winters wings' and tons more!!
I thought I'd let you know about a fun comp running on the Kaisercraft blog right now.... You can win the whole collection packs of their new collections - Offshore and Pina Colada!
It's called 'Scrap your Summer'.... I'm so over winter and it seemed like the perfect idea to immerse myself in some kind of sunlight and imagine getting a tan!
To enter all you have to do is scrap a layout using their Pina Colada or Offshore collections (or a mixture of both), post your layout on your blog, along with the code (as I have done), let them know and your set.
Make sure it's done before 31st August and you'll be right! See the blog for all the details! :)
Here's a little summery layout I made using Pina Colada:
In other news, I have been scrapping!! Both traditional and digi layouts! :) Yep I've been playing with Kaisercraft's new digi collections! But I can't show them here quite yet.... stay tuned! :)
So here are my 'normal' layouts that I made over last weekend... This one is an ultra simple layout using Stampin Up paper - a little layout from Brad's 26th birthday back in April! A fun layout, that was a bit tedious to do (free-hand cutting out that tree)!! I love these pics of Brad and I...fun selfies taken while on a bush walk while visiting the dandenongs.... Scenic route, basic grey, tinkering ink and MM paper...love that blue bird!! :) This is a quiry layout, not sure I really like it, it's a bit strange! Scrapped some OLD Xmas photos from 2006 using kraft, bella chipboard, and October Afternoon Christmas elements...
Catch you all tomorrow for my 5 things on a Friday post! :)
