I've been everywhere, MAN!

I'm back....

Well not quite. I'm writing this at my parents home.... I've been to the USA again for work - an amazing opportunity, experience, hard work - but oh so much fun also! CHA was amazing! I got to meet so many people I'm in contact with, met so many of our fantastic customers, ate HUGE meals (back to the gym), enjoyed a few drinks and laughed so much!!

I landed back in Australia yesterday (Saturday) morning and after sleeping for approximately 9 hours on the plane, I haven't been feeling jet lagged at all. I flew home a day earlier than the rest of the Kaisercraft crew for my little brothers 21st!! My boyfriend and I gave him a BBQ - which he loved!! We had a HUGE party, lots of drinks, dancing and having fun - despite the wind!

I'll be back with more scrapping in the next few weeks!! :)

2010.... My one little word.

Last year I didn't do this thing.... But I did do a scrapbook page at the start of the year explainging my hopes and dreams for the year, ending with "2009 is a year or priority - this year I come first" (By the way, that layout was just published in the latest Scrapbooking Memories magazine... check it out!!)

Anyway let me reflect on 2009....

WORK: I had just started a new job, and had a tough, trying, eventful and exciting year at work: I travelled to CHA in Anaheim, to the scrapbook expo in Brisbane, wrote many blog posts, organised events, scrapbooked, wrote, planned, analysed and wrote some more! At the end of the year all my hard work paid off - and I was rewarded with Runner Up Employee of the Year!

LIVING: After moving house half way through the year and meeting Fi, I've found the BEST housemate anyone could ask for! Fi and her two doggies, Abba and Morris are the best company!

FAMILY: While I didn't get to go home as often as I would have liked, its always good chatting to mum and dad over the phone, they visited me also this year and we had a great weekend! My little brother is growing up - he's 21 on Aust Day - I cant believe it!

LOVE: He is the best thing in my life, and there's no doubting that. We have our 5 year anniversary in Feb although I feel like I've know him all my life. I'm very much looking forward to what 2010 brings for us.

LIFE: From tennis, to soccer, running and back to the gym, I've kept as fit as I could in 2009 (albeit on and off). I've enjoyed having a little more spending money, and saving heaps of money for holidays, I've enjoyed the company of friends, and I feel my personal confidence and abilities have doubled in the previous year.

FRIENDS: This year has been tough, but after a little soul searching I've come to realise that it all comes down to who brings out the best in you - and surrounding yourself with those kind of friends. Friendship does not come easily, and sometimes it's broken a little too easily also - but I realise now that I have some amazing friends in life - those who appreciate me. I've met so many wonderful people this year and made some wonderful friends - some who will be life long friends.

After reflecting on 2009.... What's in store for 2010? I have no idea!

After seeing MANY people blogging about their 'one little word' - I've decided to join in this year too! After last year's goal orientated layout - it helps to provide a perspective on what you want to acheive.

So my one word is.... PURPOSE
"The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose"
Leider, Richard

pur·pose (pĂ»rps)
n.
1. The object toward which one strives or for which something exists; an aim or a goal: "And ever those, who would enjoyment gain/Must find it in the purpose they pursue" (Sarah Josepha Hale).
2. A result or effect that is intended or desired; an intention. See Synonyms at intention.
3. Determination; resolution: He was a man of purpose.
4. The matter at hand; the point at issue.
tr.v. pur·posed, pur·pos·ing, pur·pos·es
To intend or resolve to perform or accomplish.

I plan to do things with purpose - with good intent and to aim higher than average.

I want to find the purpose in everyday things, in my crafting, in creating further goals for myself (I'll reveal them next week). I see my "word" as an overarching aim - my goals are more targeted and specific to give me direction....

does that make sense??

What are your goals for twenty-ten?
