Every cloud has a silver lining

Every cloud has a silver lining.... or at least every rainbow has a pot of gold sitting at the end...
Photo taken by me.

Sometimes life is tough.

Work is hard, going to the gym each night is an effort, waking up when the alarm goes off is hard too!

But it's what get's us through these hard patches that makes us stronger.

After another long day at work, a tough gym session and too many anxious thoughts running through my head I thought it was time to step back and do a little reflecting and reminding myself of what's important in life....

I needed to remind myself of this one particularily...

And just when you think you've got it all covered, some weird stuff happens, you're looking at your last image - and there in the similar entries spot to the right on weheartit.com.... you see a photo of a poster that says exactly the same thing as your post title....

Fashion Friday

Just been playing on polyvore - if only that application were my wardrobe, my oh my!!

I had fun playing around with a few looks - this is one I came up with pretty quickly, I love jeans, oversized tees and jackets for this autumn weather...

Casual Weekend

Casual Weekend by Ali0804 featuring Dorothy Perkins shoes

I also found their new 'Clip to polyvore' function, where you can add any image from the web! How cool?! I visited the Just Jeans website and added a top I have and jeans (I want), along with a similar pair of shoes I got at K-Mart last night for $40, and a similar jacket (mines a linen 3/4 cropped jacket from Just Jeans)!

I hope you have a good weekend!

weekly fitness round up, shin splints and a new PB!

Let's have a look at last week's goals and see how I went!

Tuesday 11/05 - 5.15pm Body attack class DONE (582 cals)

Wednesday 12/05 - Gym program DONE (330 cals)

Thursday 13/05 - Soccer DONE (304 cals)

Sunday 16/05 - 5pm Body Attack Class NO 6km Run - 36mins DONE (170 cals)

Total calories burnt = 1870

Last week I had a really busy week, at work and outside of work. On Saturday I ended up going for my first big run (since I hurt my back), I went with a friend who I play indoor soccer with, and we ran pretty well - and I did my PB! :) I had tight calves, so I decided to go to athletes foot to get new orthodics for my NEW runners I got while in the USA earlier this year.

I ran in them again on Saturday afternoon - and felt heaps better - but my calves still hurt. I'm putting it down to not stretching properly before running - and it turns out I've got painful shin splints. :(

And now for my aim this week:

Monday 17/05 - Gym program

Tuesday 18/05 - 5.15pm Body attack class

Wednesday 19/05 - Gym program

Thursday 20/05 - Soccer

Friday 21/05 - Gym program

Saturday 22/05 - 6km Run

Sunday 23/05 - Rest

Five things on a friday 14 May

1. Yellow Owl Workshop stationary products Yellow Owl Workshop - a little stationary company out of San Fransico have popped up twice this week! Once in my inbox from a NoteMaker e-newsletter, and once on Design Sponge. This gorgeous stationary and home decor items are just too cute!

2. Plywood ceilings

I love the earthy look of this living room!

3. Body Attack & Running

These body attack classes have been great the past couple of weeks! I've been trying to go at least once a week, but now going to start going for twice. The reason? So I can train for my first fun run! I was meant to be running in one this weekend along the Great Ocean Rd - however missed registration (because I thought it was the week after). So now my aim is to run 10km for Run Melbourne, I'm hoping to run with Alice, and maybe one of my friends from soccer too!

4. Paramore

The new Paramore CD "Brand New eyes" rocks! Loving the song 'Brick by boring Brick" and I'm also loving Hayley's song with rapper B.o.B, 'Airplanes'.

5. Parents

My mum and Dad are coming to visit this weekend (well from this afternoon) - to see my new house and catch up! I'm looking forward to it! I miss em so much!

A little diana experiment

A little while ago I got my mum's old (30 years approx) Diana Camera out.... It's missed one of the little "holder" to hold the film in, there's something rattling inside and she even showed me some original photos she took... and she insisted that light leaked....

So i grabbed some 120 film off ebay and gave it a go.... I took a few photos, the back fell off and I taped it up, took some more and then taped it up with sticky tape. I took photos over a month or so.... and finally finished off the film last weekend.

I got the images burnt to CD - and when they got developed they gave them to me cheaper because of couldy film. I'm not sure whether this because of over exposure to light leaking (over that month) - or the back falling off killing a few of the photos at the start.

See below.... There were about 7 other photos that were 'cloudy' and didn't even get onto the CD..... bugger!
Here's a couple of the cloudy ones (taken after I taped the camera up - with regular sticky tape).... Taken about 3 weeks back.

And here's the photos that 'turned out' - the ones I took the day of getting the film developed:

Can anyone give me any ideas about how the film went cloudy and tips on stopping light leaks and this clouding to happen again??
