celebrating spring...

in the form of a scrapbook layout.

This one went from "in the making" to "completed"....

Tonight while watching Iron Chef Australia (and Packed to the Rafters) I finished off my layout celebrating spring!!

To this:

Materials: American crafts patterned paper and rubons, Kaisercraft crochet doilie (out very soon), MME brad, Kaisercraft Pearl Brad, Jenni Bowlin butterfly sticker, Imaginisce clear stamp, Stampin Up! Grey ink. Other: Vintage book page.
And some cute close ups!

What have you been creating lately?

a travelling scrapbook...

As my trip to Thailand draws closer I am getting more and more excited.

I know, it's not a LONG adventure, but it's an adventure at least!
And one worth recording!

Whenever I travel I always collect tickets, napkins, recipts, brochures, business cards... anything...

So, for this holiday instead of keeping a diary and collecting bits in an evelope/bag and then scrapbooking them later (which I still haven't done for my TWO USA trips)...

This timeI thought I would scrapbook along the way

After seeing Rose's blog post about her all her stuff and all her photos from her European trip I was inspired...

Sidenote: I can't wait to see what she comes up with because I'm finding it so hard to document my 2 two-week working holidays to the US in Jan 2009 and Jan 2010!! After this trip I'm going to get those two trips down on paper/in an album...

So anyway before i get side-tracked anymore... I had a look here, and revisited some of my favourite mini album makers, Ali, Elise and Christina along with the sweet link she posted for some ideas....

So I visited Kmart and left with a $5 mini photo album (holds '36 photos') along with a pack of 100 6x4inch index cards....

I aim to have 2 pages per day (give/take), to include quick notes and the bits and pieces I collect along the way....

Here's my front cover....

I'll take a fineliner, some stickers and that's about it.

When I get back I will add my favourite photos to the pages, stick/staple/pin everything in and my holiday album will be complete. :)

I love this idea of having something completed and my memories recorded immediately - not months/years down the track!

I'm also taking a small notepad to keep a 'diary' as such to scrapbook more photos later on. :)

city lights

I snapped this picture on my iphone while at the Paramore concert last night at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. While the night was overcast and a little showery (and cold), it was a great night listening to some great music!!

I love this (Melbourne) city!!

in the process...

Crafting/scrapbooking/cardmaking is always a process for me..

First I pick out all my materials - the main cardstock and patterned papers, and a few other bits and pieces.

I then may even do some cutting out of shapes if I need to. This can happen over a couple of nights through the week in-between tv/gym etc.

I then put the majority of it together on my Basic Grey magnetic mat and then it sits there for another few nights/week...

So that's where my current 'Spring' layout is at at the moment...

P.s I'm totally loving the 'shake it' app for my i-phone! :)

A cute little card...

It's been a while since I posted anything remotely crafty here... Actually it's been a while since I've created anything!

So I thought I'd post this cute card I made tonight for my nephew! :)

She + He: September

This post is totally inspired by Elise's "she & he" posts...

And wanting to keep a record of our relationship as time goes by...

She + He : September

She played indoor soccer four times.

He kept building his muscles at the gym.

They were getting more excited about their holiday to Thailand.

She caught up with her lovely friends, Vanessa and Fiona over coffee and lunch.

He + she caught up with fantastic friends, Mick and Emma over lunch and coffee.

She got more serious about going to the gym and exercising.

He worked hard in his new role as an administrator.

She worked hard also organising mail outs, brochures, media packs and blog posts.

He + she went to the Drs, got vaccinations and ended up with sore arms.

She put herself out there professionally and was let down.

He + she spent some time on the farm with his parents enjoying the spring sunshine and fresh air.

He was devastated when Collingwood tied in the AFL Grand Final with St. Kilda.

They worked as a team better than usual to get jobs done around the home.

They used all their internet quote downloading their favourite TV shows and movies.
