Hey Mum,
I know I can't be here with you on your birthday (the joys of holidaying in Vietnam I suppose!), but I wanted to let you know how much I wish I was home to celebrate!
When it came time to start thinking about what to get you for your birthday a few things crossed my mind, initially Taylor Swift tickets (which were purchased and presented) - then you decided you wanted something more 'sentimental'...
I hope that you will love gift that Dad and Andrew present to you today as much as I do!
There's another gift coming, but you'll have to wait for that...
As for my wishes for you. I hope you have a truely lovely day and Dad and Andrew spoil you rotten! You've been the best mum (I suppose I can't judge) but you have! You are really there for me when I need you and are never more than a quick phone call or text away!
Throughout my 25 odd years you've made me the young woman I am, taught me to sew, to cook, to appreciate others, treat others with respect and to listen, and love wholeheartedly. You've brought up Andrew and I with the most love anyone could ask for and thank you for teaching us to values we both hold dearly today.
I'm sure Andrew feels the same, he may not say it, but he does. We hope this little token symbolizes us, and today on your birthday and years to come will look at it and think of us.
Recently, when you came down to visit for our Christmas shopping weekend in December, I had the most fun I'd had for ages! Shopping, dinner, chatting, wine, scrapbook shopping, and shopping some more - I really had a ball! It was lovely to spend some mother and daughter time together, and only hope we can spend heaps more time together like that!
I'm going to miss you heaps when Brad and I move to Darwin - but in reality I will still speak to you on the phone, on skype, email and texts - but nothing can beat your hugs!
Love you mum. oh so much.
thank you for everything.
