Happy (50th) Birthday Mum!

Hey Mum,

I know I can't be here with you on your birthday (the joys of holidaying in Vietnam I suppose!), but I wanted to let you know how much I wish I was home to celebrate!

When it came time to start thinking about what to get you for your birthday a few things crossed my mind, initially Taylor Swift tickets (which were purchased and presented) - then you decided you wanted something more 'sentimental'...

I hope that you will love gift that Dad and Andrew present to you today as much as I do!

There's another gift coming, but you'll have to wait for that...

As for my wishes for you. I hope you have a truely lovely day and Dad and Andrew spoil you rotten! You've been the best mum (I suppose I can't judge) but you have! You are really there for me when I need you and are never more than a quick phone call or text away!

Throughout my 25 odd years you've made me the young woman I am, taught me to sew, to cook, to appreciate others, treat others with respect and to listen, and love wholeheartedly. You've brought up Andrew and I with the most love anyone could ask for and thank you for teaching us to values we both hold dearly today.

I'm sure Andrew feels the same, he may not say it, but he does. We hope this little token symbolizes us, and today on your birthday and years to come will look at it and think of us.

Recently, when you came down to visit for our Christmas shopping weekend in December, I had the most fun I'd had for ages! Shopping, dinner, chatting, wine, scrapbook shopping, and shopping some more - I really had a ball! It was lovely to spend some mother and daughter time together, and only hope we can spend heaps more time together like that!

I'm going to miss you heaps when Brad and I move to Darwin - but in reality I will still speak to you on the phone, on skype, email and texts - but nothing can beat your hugs!

Love you mum. oh so much.

thank you for everything.

my life in point form [right now]

this post was inspired by the lovely Jane over at tea & vegemite toast

> I finished my Christmas shopping on Monday night! I braved Highpoint (and surprisingly it wasn't too busy) - it was a pity my boyfriend had decided to walk slowly (I don't think he know's the term "power shop")

> I'm currently living out of two bags until around January 20th 2012. One is currently packed for work this week+christmas+normal clothes, bag number two is packed for Vietnam!

> Vietnam 27th Dec - 5th Jan with Brad and our friends Jayne and Pat! :) So excited

> Loving my new clothes I got from the Bardot outlet over the past couple of weeks - including this peach silk blouse I scored for... $10! ;)

> Feeling pretty excited for my cousin who I found out got engaged on Monday night! So happy for her!

> Feeling less and less stressed about moving to Darwin as I tick things off the list (got an awesome new job, we've rented our Geelong house).

> Being more and more in love with the boy than ever.

> Getting excited for Christmas! Who doesn't love giving presents, eating homemade plum pudding and brandy custard.... and everything else?

+snapshot from hotel, my mum and I, my nephews and I+

Currently I....

- have ticked off my christmas shopping thanks to a whirlwind xmas shopping trip with my mum
- have been thinking about the awesome mum&daughter weekend I had with my mum - ikea shopping, vietnamese and italian dinners, a stay in a hotel, christmas shopping, personal shopping ;), outlet shopping, girl talks and more!
- love mangoes
- am loving the random date night I had with Brad on Sunday night after not seeing him over the weekend (Tom Phat Bar for cocktails and dinner followed by Gelato on Lygon St)
- am writing a million to-do and to-pack lists for the upcoming move
- am applying for jobs
- still find time for the gym and building those muscles
- am getting results at the gym
- am trying to spend as much time with my nephews as possible before we move
- am writing in my diary. recording memories for now and later.

Q What are you up to?
