a snapshot of my weekend.

Crossfit on Saturday morning - 20minutes of hillsprints, burpees, vsits, squats.... arghh!

Breakfast at The Boatshed cafe with friends. Not the best breakfast... I had yummy crepes - but after crossfit they didn't even hit the sides!

A visit to Darwin's Home/Life expo - a waste of time.

A trip to Casuarina shopping centre to buy Brad's mum a mothers day/birthday present and buy some awesome olive green shorts that I'd been looking for along with browsing some pretty rings at the jewellers.

We went for dinner at a mate's place and enjoyed yummy dips and chips, a chicken salad, and my homemade mini cheesecakes (mascarpone & raspberry). Recipe's from here. They're so good.

A sleep in on Sunday. Cleaning the house top to bottom (and it's so sparkly and clean). Grocery shopping.  Baking some mini quiche type things for my lunches. Then getting some lunch and taking it to Lake Alexander gardens to relax and do some relaxing and sunbaking.

A walk to the waterfront and getting trampoline icecream for a treat! Then relaxing at home.

Was a great weekend!

Q How did you spend yours?

Sketch layout: Seven

Hey there.

I completed another sketch challenge was completed last week - this time a Kaisercraft one, a part of their 'Saturday Sketch' competition. I loved the sketch - it was something a little different to what I would usually do, and used a few bright and bold papers to brighten up quite a moody IG pic!

The picture is taken of the pandora charm I got from Brad for our seventh (dating) anniversary along with the lovely card he gave me.
Materials: Kaisercraft Bubblegum Hills patterned paper,, Pink Gelato patterned paper, Sassafrass paper,, My Minds Eye paper, American Crafts thcikers, Blue sharpie, Tattered angles blue glimmermist, Fiskars paper punch.

Scrapbook layout: Sisters by choice

One of my friends, Raquel recently started up her very own scrapbooking kit club, "A Piece of Cake Designs".

I love the concept, where each kit is built from a recipe, adding papers, embellishments, "the cherries on top" - extra special embellishment's she has either made/commissioned or sourced herself. Each kit is only $38, and is loaded with around 7 patterned papers, 2 cardstock, 2 sets of alpha stickers, border stickers, an assortment of ribbons and embellishments, tags and of course those extra 'cherries'. I loved it!

So this month (May kit) I signed up for a subscription (as they've been selling out) for the next few months. It arrived just late last week (I paid late, and received mine later than everyone else), and got creating last Friday night! :)
I immediately thought this kit lent itself to girly/friends photos, and I rummaged through my pile of photo's and found this one of Brad's sister and I from back in January. It was taken the morning we flew (and moved permanently) to Darwin. We had brunch with Brad's sister Jaimie, her two boys (our nephews) and Brad's parents. It was a lovely morning, and we bawled our eyes out saying goodbye to Jaimie and the boys.

Yes, Brad and I aren't married, but that day made me realise his family are mine also (regardless of any officialism). Jaimie is as much my sister and his.

I miss her heaps. We'd started to spend more time together, since I started working in Melbourne in May last year. Love you Jaimie!

Supplies: A Piece of Cake Designs kit, Kaisercraft stamp 'School Days', Stampin' Up grey ink, washi tape, Kaisercraft tiny alpha stickers, zig black marker, basic grey white alpha stickers.

Camilla kaftan outfit help!

So I have a little dilema... and I'm hoping (pretty please) that the blog universe might help... whoever you are that may read my blog...

My birthday is coming up - and I've decided to wear a gorgeous Camilla kaftan that I purchased a few weeks back on a huge sale! I decided that I'm only 26 once - and I may as well wear something gorgeous, go to the Casino here in Darwin - have drinks at the Sand Bar and then somewhere lovely for dinner!
But I don't know what shoes to wear with it - AND I need to purchase them today/tomorrow in hope they arrive in time!

So... check out below the options I've come up with so far and let me know which shoe you think I should pair with my Camilla?

Your help would be so appreciated! ;)

Postcard perfect Darwin

I don't know what made me specifically made me 'fall' for Darwin. But her beautiful skies was on of them!

I've only been living here since January, but I've experience some pretty amazing storms at the end of the wet season, spectacular sunsets and amazing sunrises! I can't wait to see what else I can discover while I'm here!

Sketch Challenge: Home

This week as I've been sick and not able to exercise, or go to work a couple of days I got stuck back into scrapbooking. I must say I'm loving it too! I even sourced out a scrapbook store (even if its a home based one) in Darwin - it'll be great to grab supplies from there if I feel like it! :)

Anyways, I thought, heck why don't I try a couple of sketch challenges now I'm back in the swing of things.

So I did a quick google search, and found 'Once upon a sketch' April challenge - "Home":
Here's my take on the challenge:

Materials: Bazzil cardstock, Kaisercraft patterned paper, Tim Holz ticket & transparency photo negative roll, Prima flowers, Kaisercraft flowers, Cosmo cricket patterned paper, Kaisercraft stamps, Glimmermist, Heidi Swapp Chipboard, Zig writer, Kaisercraft rhinestones.

I love this layout. Something a little different from me - I tried something new, and had totally forgot I had my glimmer mists and glimmer screens! :)
